The 8 Key Steps to Homeownership

What documentation will a Lender want from me?
Once you have chosen the Lender/Loan program that you are going to use to purchase your new home, the Lender will need to collect documentation from you to verify you income, assets & liabilities.

Most Lenders will request: 2 years of tax returns, most current 2 months of W2’s, most current 2 months of all bank statements (checking & savings) and most current 2 months of any investment accounts (401k, IRA etc). They will also need your employment information and will contact your employer to verify your employment.

At this point the Lender will also pull a new Credit Report. There may be other documentation required by your Lender. It is crucial that you get any/all needed documentation to them as soon as possible.
